Feeling creative? Illinois artists can compete for a chance to have their work displayed on cannabis packaging in the “TerpKings Art & Design Contest” hosted by The 1937 Group.
The contest was developed by the state’s first minority-owned, vertically-integrated company, The 1937 Group, in collaboration with minority-owned brand management, development, and licensing company, KVL International. The winner will receive a cash prize of $5,000 along with opportunities to partner with The 1937 Group to develop their in-house brands. The winner’s artwork may be featured on the group’s “TerpKings” cannabis flower line.
The contest hopes to bring in artwork with unique styles and engaging depictions of unworldly characters to represent The TerpKings, which are personifications of various cannabis strains. Each TerpKing represents a unique terpene profile.
Art submissions will open on May 2nd and run through June 3rd.
“Our goal with this contest is not only to merge our love of the cannabis plant with local art but also to help discover, recognize and elevate artists within our community, ” said Alex Al-Sabah, Chief Strategy Officer of The 1937 Group.
