After a successful inaugural cannabis job fair in September, Canna Get A 2nd Chance will return in 2022 for another round. The event will push social justice and equitable hiring and is aimed at anyone looking to get ahead with a cannabis career, including people with cannabis convictions and those most impacted by the War on Drugs.
The event is put on by two Black-owned organizations: the socially-conscious cannabis and streetwear brand, 40 Tons, and the career-placement firm, BrandResumes. Their 2021 event brought in over 200 job-seekers and hiring managers from 21 employers, and dozens of people received job offers on the spot.
Sponsors for the upcoming cannabis job fairs can expect private booth space, local advertising, event and social media marketing, access to the candidate resume database, and a dedicated interviewing space. They expect to see 500-800 attendees per event.
Canna Get a 2nd Chance started as a cannabis job fair in L.A. but with hopes of expanding into a nationwide series of cannabis career fairs. The upcoming events represent the next step in their larger goal, as Canna Get a 2nd
Chance is poised to take place in three different cities across two states.
