Toronto’s Edition is keen to prove that cannabis consumers are eager for a sophisticated shopping experience. Elle Design called their first Toronto location “the world’s chicest cannabis shop, ” and Edition seems determined to keep that title. Their second store, located at 764 St. Clair West in the Wychwood-Cedarvale neighbourhood in Midtown Toronto, will replicate their minimalist design aesthetic–but with added features.
St. Clair West’s spacious floor plan allowed the design team from StudioAC to utilize cement and industrial fiberglass grates to produce Edition’s signature shelving and table centerpieces on a more dramatic scale. The natural lighting features act as a spotlight for the curated cannabis products and accessories at the center of the room.
Edition opened its first location at the start of a pandemic lockdown, and quickly pivoted to offer same-day delivery and curbside pickup. The company was also quick to launch partnerships with local talent and non-profits. Most recently Edition collaborated with Toronto-based designers Mr. Saturday and CoFo on the “Edition Correspondence Club,” a limited edition collection of apparel, and with The Stop Community Food Centre– a West Toronto nonprofit that tackles food insecurity.
With COVID-19 restrictions easing, the new shop is set to open its doors at the end of the month.
