A new week, a new weed news roundup. (Say that five times fast.) Here’s what you may have missed from the headlines:

Unions, unions, unions– Flora Terra workers overwhelmingly vote to join the Teamsters union. This group marks the first cannabis workers to join Teamsters under the California Agricultural Labor Relations Act in Northern California. Staff at Sunnyside Dispensary in South Beloit, Illinois have also voted to join their local Teamsters.

Canopy Growth isn’t waiting – the company has consolidated its US assets into one holding group to speed up its entry into the market. The new company, Canopy USA, will house Acreage Holdings, Wana Brands, and Jetty.

California’s Dreamfield Brands is being sued for the potency of its joints. The problem? Independent tests revealed their joints had a lower THC content than advertised. The two plaintiffs are suing for unfair competition, false advertising, and negligent representation.

Germany outlines steps to legalization. Health Minister Karl Lauterbach released a detailed plan for lawmakers as they draft an adult-use cannabis bill before the end of the year. Plans include licenses for every part of the supply chain (including the ability to vertically integrate), permission to cultivate at home, and no imports from out of the country.

The Nevada State Board of Pharmacy can no longer govern cannabis. A Clark County District Court Judge ruled in favor of advocates wanting to remove the Board of Pharmacy’s power over the plant. This comes just a month after the court ruled in favor of removing cannabis from the controlled substances list.
