December is a busy month. If you haven’t been keeping up with the cannabis news headlines, we’ve got you covered. Here’s what you may have missed this week in weed news:

One last try…Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer is trying once again to get the SAFE banking bill included in the omnibus funding package. Yesterday, Democrats shared a revised text with Republicans, addressing their key concerns in a last-ditch effort to get the bill across the finish line. This move shortly after Minority Leader Mitch McConnell blocked the SAFE Banking Act in the National Defense Authorization Act last week. Protecting budtenders? Nah.

Tennessee’s taking baby steps toward cannabis. Senator Heidi Campbell and representative Bob Freeman have said they plan to file a bill sometime within the next few days to legalize adult-use recreational cannabis in Tennessee. While jumping from a state with no medical marijuana framework to a recreational bill may seem unattainable, Campbell says it’s all about keeping the conversation open. “We’re just going to keep knocking on that door until somebody opens it,” she told WKRN.

Dutchie’s got drama. The e-commerce company’s founders are suing the current leadership, accusing the new leaders of organizing a coup. Dutchie’s original founders, brothers Ross and Zachary Lipson, say they were kicked out of the company unfairly by the current board. They claim that they were ambushed at a board meeting in late November, just days before the company announced executive chairman Timothy Barash was taking over the position of CEO.

Wyld has entered Illinois. This comes shortly after the company’s launch in Oklahoma this September. Now, Wyld’s gummy lines can be found in Arizona, California, Colorado, Michigan, Nevada, Oklahoma, Oregon, Washington, and Canada.

Drink up, Mary Jones has launched infused syrups. The well-known beverage company behind Jones craft soda has added 4-oz THC syrups to their cannabis offerings. Each bottle contains 100 mg of THC and is available in their four classic flavors: root beer, lemonade, green apple, and orange and cream.
