Jesce Horton is such an influential force in the industry that his bio is way too heady for a short news article. But it does make for interesting reading. A few highlights: Horton is chief executive officer at LOWD, an award-winning cannabis company with headquarters in Portland, Oregon. Horton is the co-founder of the Minority Cannabis Business Association (MCBA) and, with his wife Jeannette Ward Horton, Nu-Leaf Project, which delivers grants, educational opportunities, and other resources to cannabis business hopefuls. In 2016, Governor Kate Brown appointed Horton to Oregon’s Task Force for Environmental Best Practices.

MJ Unpacked co-founder George Jage was enthusiastic about Horton’s decision to join the MJ Unpacked advisory board, calling LOWD “one of the most powerful brands in the industry” and praising Horton’s extensive advocacy work. “Jesce has been an absolute powerhouse and pioneer in the cannabis industry,” Jage said. “His deep insights and extensive knowledge both of where this industry has been and where it is heading will be a huge asset to building MJ Unpacked and serving the industry.”

On the board, Horton will be joining other industry luminaries: Ryan Brown, Charlie Cain, Marji Chimes, Bob Eschino, Mike Hennesy, Vince Ning, Sally Vander Veer, and Kristina Yolen. Together, they’ll continue to shape the “first cannabis event of its kind,” which debuts in Las Vegas this October. Register here.

“I’m thrilled to be joining the advisory board of MJ Unpacked and to positively affect the direction of such an innovative and impactful company,” Horton said.
