In a sign of the times, SKYMINT has transformed an old Sears location into a flagship dispensary. The store is SKYMINT’S third location in Coldwater, Michigan, and its 15th in the state.

With soaring ceilings, clean lines, and hardwood floors, the store is more upscale Urban Outfitters than Sears. Custom shelving and illuminated tables display 250+ products alongside a sitting area with lounge chairs and a record player.

A woven mural created by in-house artist Julie Lowry welcomes customers with colorful panels and the words, “Flower to the People.” In keeping with the lifestyle retail vibe, the store also sells clothing, coffee table books, and, in the words of Summer Ransom-Cleveland, “countertop infusion kitchenware and hand-made and vintage ceramic smoking accoutrements.” Now president of retail at SKYMINT, Ransom-Cleveland was a visual director at–go figure–Urban Outfitters.

“At SKYMINT, we’re about celebrating the intersection of cannabis, fashion, food, art, and music,” explains SKYMINT Senior Director of Marketing, Aimee Michalak. Reviving one of the city’s largest retail destinations is symbolic of SKYMINT’S larger mission to be, in the words of CEO and Co-Founder Jeff Radway, “a meaningful economic force and powerful contributor to Michigan’s booming cannabis industry.” The company has so far created 500 jobs in the state.

SKYMINT Coldwater is located at 352 South Willowbrook, just off Interstate-69.
